The blameless one (aninditā), embracing him with both arms, awakened him. She was like a blooming creeper (latā) clinging to a mighty sāla tree (mahāśālam) on the bank of the Gomati river, and she awakened him just as a lioness (mṛgarājavadhūḥ) awakens a sleeping lion in a formidable forest.
