मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
ततो ब्रह्मर्षयः सिद्धा देवराजर्षयस्तथा ।
हव्यवाहं पुरस्कृत्य ब्रह्माणं शरणं गताः ॥१॥
ततो ब्रह्मर्षयः सिद्धा देवराजर्षयस्तथा ।

1. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca ,
tato brahmarṣayaḥ siddhā devarājarṣayastathā ,
havyavāhaṁ puraskṛtya brahmāṇaṁ śaraṇaṁ gatāḥ.
tato brahmarṣayaḥ siddhā devarājarṣayastathā ,
havyavāhaṁ puraskṛtya brahmāṇaṁ śaraṇaṁ gatāḥ.

Mārkaṇḍeya said: Then, the brahminical sages (brahmarṣayaḥ), the perfected beings (siddhāḥ), and also the divine royal sages (devarājarṣayaḥ), placing Agni (Havyavāha) in front, went to Brahmā for refuge.
