महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-29, verse-15

तांश्चेज्जयति शत्रून्स तदा प्राप्नोति सद्गतिम् ।
अथ ते वै जयन्त्येनं तालाग्रादिव पात्यते ॥१५॥

15. tāṁścejjayati śatrūnsa tadā prāpnoti sadgatim ,
atha te vai jayantyenaṁ tālāgrādiva pātyate.

15. If he conquers those enemies, then he attains a good destination (sadgati). Otherwise, if those (enemies) indeed conquer him, he is cast down as if from the top of a palm tree.
