महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-103, verse-12

गान्धारी त्वपि शुश्राव धृतराष्ट्रमचक्षुषम् ।
आत्मानं दित्सितं चास्मै पित्रा मात्रा च भारत ॥१२॥
12. gāndhārī tvapi śuśrāva dhṛtarāṣṭramacakṣuṣam ,
ātmānaṁ ditsitaṁ cāsmai pitrā mātrā ca bhārata.
12. gāndhārī tu api śuśrāva dhṛtarāṣṭram acarkṣuṣam
ātmānam ditsitam ca asmai pitrā mātrā ca bhārata
12. O Bharata, Gandhari, for her part, also heard that Dhritarashtra was blind, and that she herself was intended to be given to him by her father and mother.
