महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-103, verse-9

वैशंपायन उवाच ।
अथ शुश्राव विप्रेभ्यो गान्धारीं सुबलात्मजाम् ।
आराध्य वरदं देवं भगनेत्रहरं हरम् ।
गान्धारी किल पुत्राणां शतं लेभे वरं शुभा ॥९॥
9. vaiśaṁpāyana uvāca ,
atha śuśrāva viprebhyo gāndhārīṁ subalātmajām ,
ārādhya varadaṁ devaṁ bhaganetraharaṁ haram ,
gāndhārī kila putrāṇāṁ śataṁ lebhe varaṁ śubhā.
9. vaiśaṃpāyanaḥ uvāca atha śuśrāva viprebhyaḥ
gāndhārīm subalātmajām ārādhya
varadam devam bhaganetraharam haram gāndhārī
kila putrāṇām śatam lebhe varam śubhā
9. Vaiśampāyana said: Then he heard from the Brahmins that Gāndhārī, the daughter of Subala, had propitiated the boon-bestowing deity, Hara (Śiva), who had plucked out Bhaga's eyes. Indeed, the auspicious Gāndhārī had obtained a boon for a hundred sons.
