भगवद्गीता       bhagavad-gītā - chapter-10, verse-35

बृहत्साम तथा साम्नां गायत्री छन्दसामहम् ।
मासानां मार्गशीर्षोऽहमृतूनां कुसुमाकरः ॥३५॥
35. bṛhatsāma tathā sāmnāṁ gāyatrī chandasāmaham ,
māsānāṁ mārgaśīrṣo'hamṛtūnāṁ kusumākaraḥ.

35. I am the Bṛhat-sāman among the sāmans (Vedic chants), and the Gāyatrī among the meters. Among months, I am Mārgaśīrṣa, and among seasons, I am spring.
