अहंत्वभावाच्चाहंत्वमस्ति संसारबीजकम् ।
नाहंत्वभावान्नाहंत्वमस्तीति ज्ञानमुत्तमम् ॥ ४ ॥

From the very presence of the ego-sense, the ego (ahaṅkāra) exists, which is the seed of transmigration (saṃsāra). And the understanding that the ego (ahaṅkāra) does not exist because the ego-sense is absent—this is the supreme knowledge (jñāna).
