महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-14, chapter-63, verse-10

कृत्वा च मध्ये राजानममात्यांश्च यथाविधि ।
षट्पथं नवसंस्थानं निवेशं चक्रिरे द्विजाः ॥१०॥
10. kṛtvā ca madhye rājānamamātyāṁśca yathāvidhi ,
ṣaṭpathaṁ navasaṁsthānaṁ niveśaṁ cakrire dvijāḥ.

10. And after duly placing the king and his ministers in the center, the Brahmins established a new settlement (niveśa) with six main roads, structured according to proper arrangements.
