My Brahmā priest is the approver of actions (karma). The Adhvaryu is the performer, whose praises are sung. The Praśāstā is the instructor, whose precepts are followed. That teaching (śāstra) is its guiding principle, and final liberation (apavarga) is its fee (dakṣiṇā).
