महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-164, verse-12

तस्माद्धर्मप्रधानात्मा वेदधर्मविदीप्सितः ।
ब्राह्मणो गुणवान्कश्चित्पुरोधाः प्रविमृश्यताम् ॥१२॥
12. tasmāddharmapradhānātmā vedadharmavidīpsitaḥ ,
brāhmaṇo guṇavānkaścitpurodhāḥ pravimṛśyatām.

brāhmaṇaḥ guṇavān kaścit purodhāḥ pravimṛśyatām
12. Therefore, let a virtuous brahmin, whose very essence (ātman) is devoted to righteousness (dharma) and who is sought after by those who understand the principles (dharma) of the Vedas, be carefully considered as a royal priest (purohita).
