महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-97, verse-18

नास्य जातिं निसर्गं वा कथ्यमानं शृणोमि वै ।
पितरं मातरं वापि नास्य जानाति कश्चन ॥१८॥

18. nāsya jātiṁ nisargaṁ vā kathyamānaṁ śṛṇomi vai ,
pitaraṁ mātaraṁ vāpi nāsya jānāti kaścana.

18. na asya jātim nisargam vā kathyāmānam śṛṇomi vai
| pitaram mātaram vā api na asya jānāti kaścana

18. I certainly do not hear its lineage or inherent nature (nisarga) being recounted. No one knows its father or mother either.
