महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-100, verse-9

पश्चिमा वारुणी दिक्च धार्यते वै सुभद्रया ।
महानुभावया नित्यं मातले विश्वरूपया ॥९॥
9. paścimā vāruṇī dikca dhāryate vai subhadrayā ,
mahānubhāvayā nityaṁ mātale viśvarūpayā.

9. And O Mātali, the western direction, which is sacred to Varuṇa, is indeed always held by the greatly potent Subhadrā, who possesses a universal form.
