महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-87, verse-12

ततः पुण्यतमा राजन्सततं तापसायुता ।
केतुमाला च मेध्या च गङ्गारण्यं च भूमिप ।
ख्यातं च सैन्धवारण्यं पुण्यं द्विजनिषेवितम् ॥१२॥
12. tataḥ puṇyatamā rājansatataṁ tāpasāyutā ,
ketumālā ca medhyā ca gaṅgāraṇyaṁ ca bhūmipa ,
khyātaṁ ca saindhavāraṇyaṁ puṇyaṁ dvijaniṣevitam.

gaṅgāraṇyam ca bhūmipa khyātam ca
saindhavāraṇyam puṇyam dvijaniṣevitam
12. O king, beyond that, there is Ketumālā, which is most sacred, always inhabited by ascetics (tapas), and pure. And, O protector of the earth, there is also Gaṅgāraṇya, and the famous, sacred Saindhavāraṇya forest, frequented by twice-born ones.
