महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-217, verse-9

ततः संकल्प्य पुत्रत्वे स्कंदं मातृगणोऽगमत् ।
काकी च हलिमा चैव रुद्राथ बृहली तथा ।
आर्या पलाला वै मित्रा सप्तैताः शिशुमातरः ॥९॥
9. tataḥ saṁkalpya putratve skaṁdaṁ mātṛgaṇo'gamat ,
kākī ca halimā caiva rudrātha bṛhalī tathā ,
āryā palālā vai mitrā saptaitāḥ śiśumātaraḥ.

mātṛgaṇaḥ agamat kākī ca halimā ca eva
rudrā atha bṛhalī tathā āryā palālā
vai mitrā sapta etāḥ śiśumātaraḥ
9. Then, having resolved to adopt Skanda as their son, the group of Mothers went forth. Kāki, Halimā, Rudrā, Bṛhalī, Aryā, Palālā, and Mitrā—these seven are known as the child-mothers.
