महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-59, verse-8

अजो हि शस्त्रमखनत्किलैकः शस्त्रे विपन्ने पद्भिरपास्य भूमिम् ।
निकृन्तनं स्वस्य कण्ठस्य घोरं तद्वद्वैरं मा खनीः पाण्डुपुत्रैः ॥८॥
8. ajo hi śastramakhanatkilaikaḥ; śastre vipanne padbhirapāsya bhūmim ,
nikṛntanaṁ svasya kaṇṭhasya ghoraṁ; tadvadvairaṁ mā khanīḥ pāṇḍuputraiḥ.
8. ajaḥ hi śastram akhanat kila ekaḥ
śastre vipanne padbhiḥ apāsya bhūmim
nikṛntanam svasya kaṇṭhasya ghoram
tadvat vairam mā khanīḥ pāṇḍuputraiḥ
8. Indeed, a goat once dug up a weapon all by itself. When the weapon was found, it scraped away the earth with its feet, leading to the dreadful cutting of its own throat. Similarly, do not stir up enmity (vaira) with the sons of Pāṇḍu.
