महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-59, verse-12

अन्तो नूनं भवितायं कुरूणां सुदारुणः सर्वहरो विनाशः ।
वाचः काव्याः सुहृदां पथ्यरूपा न श्रूयन्ते वर्धते लोभ एव ॥१२॥
12. anto nūnaṁ bhavitāyaṁ kurūṇāṁ; sudāruṇaḥ sarvaharo vināśaḥ ,
vācaḥ kāvyāḥ suhṛdāṁ pathyarūpā; na śrūyante vardhate lobha eva.
12. antaḥ nūnam bhavitā ayam kurūṇām
sudāruṇaḥ sarvaharah vināśaḥ
vācaḥ kāvyāḥ suhṛdām pathyarūpāḥ
na śrūyante vardhate lobhaḥ eva
12. Indeed, this will be a most dreadful, all-consuming destruction, signifying the end of the Kurus. The eloquent and beneficial words of friends are not being heeded; instead, only greed is growing.
