महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-158, verse-8

धर्मशीलं गुणोपेतं पाप इत्यवगच्छति ।
आत्मशीलानुमानेन न विश्वसिति कस्यचित् ॥८॥
8. dharmaśīlaṁ guṇopetaṁ pāpa ityavagacchati ,
ātmaśīlānumānena na viśvasiti kasyacit.
