O dear one, for someone who wishes to cross the ocean of rebirth (saṃsāra) – which is a deep ocean of suffering and temptations – in order to attain appropriate, lasting peace, the supreme means (abhyupāya) is this kind of reflection: 'Who am I? How is this world, and what is beyond it? What is the use of worldly enjoyments?'
