तयोर्विवाहकालेऽतः शान्तिं कुर्याद् विचक्षणः ॥१२॥

These bride and groom bring misfortune upon the mother-in-law and father-in-law respectively. Therefore, at the time of their marriage, a wise person should perform a pacification ritual (śānti).
