महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-64, verse-5

त्रीणि ज्योतींषि पुरुष इति वै देवलोऽब्रवीत् ।
अपत्यं कर्म विद्या च यतः सृष्टाः प्रजास्ततः ॥५॥
5. trīṇi jyotīṁṣi puruṣa iti vai devalo'bravīt ,
apatyaṁ karma vidyā ca yataḥ sṛṣṭāḥ prajāstataḥ.

apatyam karma vidyā ca yataḥ sṛṣṭāḥ prajāḥ tataḥ
5. Devala indeed said that a man (puruṣa) has three lights: progeny, action (karma), and knowledge (vidyā). It is from these that beings are created.
