महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-85, verse-5

यो हि नाभाषते किंचित्सततं भ्रुकुटीमुखः ।
द्वेष्यो भवति भूतानां स सान्त्वमिह नाचरन् ॥५॥
5. yo hi nābhāṣate kiṁcitsatataṁ bhrukuṭīmukhaḥ ,
dveṣyo bhavati bhūtānāṁ sa sāntvamiha nācaran.
5. yaḥ hi na ābhāṣate kiṃcit satatam bhrukuṭī-mukhaḥ
dveṣyaḥ bhavati bhūtānām sa sāntvam iha na ācaran
5. yaḥ hi satatam bhrukuṭī-mukhaḥ kiṃcit na ābhāṣate,
sa iha sāntvam na ācaran,
bhūtānām dveṣyaḥ bhavati
5. Indeed, a person who constantly frowns, speaks nothing, and does not use gentle or conciliatory words (sāntva) in this world, becomes disliked by all creatures.
