The great-souled (mahātmā) Mahadeva, the God of gods (devadevaḥ), radiant and clad in hides (kṛttivāsāḥ), having offered his very self (ātman) in the universal sacrifice (sarvamedha), shines brilliantly, pervading all worlds and sustaining them with his glory.
