ज्ञानमुत्पद्यते पुंसां क्षयात्पापस्य कर्मणः ।
अथादर्शतलप्रख्ये पश्यत्यात्मानमात्मनि ॥८॥

8. jñānamutpadyate puṁsāṁ kṣayātpāpasya karmaṇaḥ ,
athādarśatalaprakhye paśyatyātmānamātmani.

8. Knowledge (jñāna) arises for individuals from the destruction of sinful deeds (karma). Subsequently, in a state as clear as a mirror's surface, one perceives the self (ātman) within one's own being (ātman).
