Just as, by churning those very pieces of wood (kāṣṭha) through the appropriate process (yoga), one can perceive both smoke and fire, similarly, a wise person (budha) with a clear intellect (subuddhi), through the equanimity of the senses (indriya), perceives his own supreme intrinsic nature (svabhāva).
