महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-11, chapter-21, verse-13

अल्पावशेषो हि कृतो महात्मा शरीरभक्षैः परिभक्षयद्भिः ।
द्रष्टुं न संप्रीतिकरः शशीव कृष्णश्य पक्षस्य चतुर्दशाहे ॥१३॥
13. alpāvaśeṣo hi kṛto mahātmā; śarīrabhakṣaiḥ paribhakṣayadbhiḥ ,
draṣṭuṁ na saṁprītikaraḥ śaśīva; kṛṣṇaśya pakṣasya caturdaśāhe.

13. Indeed, the great soul (ātman) (Karṇa) has been left with very little, devoured by those (predators) that consumed his body parts. He is not pleasant to behold, just like the moon on the fourteenth day of the dark fortnight.
