महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-15, verse-5

सूत उवाच ।
ज्वलन्तमचलं मेरुं तेजोराशिमनुत्तमम् ।
आक्षिपन्तं प्रभां भानोः स्वशृङ्गैः काञ्चनोज्ज्वलैः ॥५॥
5. sūta uvāca ,
jvalantamacalaṁ meruṁ tejorāśimanuttamam ,
ākṣipantaṁ prabhāṁ bhānoḥ svaśṛṅgaiḥ kāñcanojjvalaiḥ.
5. sūta uvāca jvalantam acalam merum tejorāśim anuttamam
ākṣipantam prabhām bhānoḥ svaśṛṅgaiḥ kāñcanojjvalaiḥ
5. Sūta said, "(They used) the blazing, unsurpassed Mount Meru, a mass of brilliance, which eclipsed the sun's radiance with its own peaks that shone like gold."
