महानिर्वाण-तन्त्रम्       mahānirvāṇa-tantram - chapter-11, verse-138

अपालनवधाद्गोश्च शुध्येदष्टोपवासतः ।
बाहुजाद्या विशुध्येयुः पादन्यूनक्रमात् प्रिये ॥१३८॥
138. apālanavadhādgośca śudhyedaṣṭopavāsataḥ ,
bāhujādyā viśudhyeyuḥ pādanyūnakramāt priye.

bāhujādyāḥ viśuddhyeyuḥ pādanūnakramāt priye
138. priye apālanavadhāt goḥ ca aṣṭopavāsataḥ

138. O beloved, one is purified from the sin of killing a cow through neglect by observing eight fasts. The other social classes, starting with the bāhuja (kṣatriya), become purified in descending order by a quarter less.
