चिन्मात्रपरमाकाश एष यः कथितो मया ।
एषोऽसौ शिव इत्युक्तस्तदा रुद्रः प्रनृत्यति ॥ १ ॥

Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: This supreme expanse (ākāśa) of pure consciousness (cit) that I have described, this very (reality) is called Śiva. Then, Rudra dances vigorously.
