वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-1, chapter-20, verse-8

संश्रुत्यैवं करिष्यामीत्यकुर्वाणस्य राघव ।
इष्टापूर्तवधो भूयात्तस्माद् रामं विसर्जय ॥८॥
8. saṃśrutyaivaṃ kariṣyāmītyakurvāṇasya rāghava ,
iṣṭāpūrtavadho bhūyāttasmād rāmaṃ visarjaya.
8. saṃśrutya evaṃ kariṣyāmi iti akurvāṇasya rāghava
iṣṭāpūrtavadhaḥ bhūyāt tasmāt rāmaṃ visarjaya
8. rāghava evaṃ kariṣyāmi iti saṃśrutya akurvāṇasya
iṣṭāpūrtavadhaḥ bhūyāt tasmāt rāmaṃ visarjaya
8. O Rāghava, for one who, having vowed 'I will do this,' fails to act, may there be the destruction of his merits (iṣṭāpūrta). Therefore, release Rāma.
