मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
कथितस्तव सावर्णिश्छायासंज्ञासुतश्च यः ।
पूर्वजस्य मनोस्तुल्यः स मनुर्भविताष्टमः ॥३॥

3. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca .
kathitastava sāvarṇiśchāyāsaṃjñāsutaśca yaḥ .
pūrvajasya manostulyaḥ sa manurbhavitāṣṭamaḥ.

mārkaṇḍeyaḥ uvāca kathitaḥ tava sāvarṇiḥ chāyā-saṃjñā-sutaḥ

Mārkaṇḍeya said: 'Sāvarṇi, the son of Chāyā-Saṃjñā, about whom I spoke to you, he will be the eighth Manu, similar to the preceding Manu (Vaivasvata).'
