महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-4, chapter-7, verse-5

ततो विराटं समुपेत्य पाण्डवः सुदीनरूपो वचनं महामनाः ।
उवाच सूदोऽस्मि नरेन्द्र बल्लवो भजस्व मां व्यञ्जनकारमुत्तमम् ॥५॥
5. tato virāṭaṁ samupetya pāṇḍavaḥ; sudīnarūpo vacanaṁ mahāmanāḥ ,
uvāca sūdo'smi narendra ballavo; bhajasva māṁ vyañjanakāramuttamam.
5. tataḥ virāṭam samupetya pāṇḍavaḥ
sudīnarūpaḥ vacanam mahāmanāḥ uvāca
sūdaḥ asmi narendra vallavaḥ
bhajasva mām vyañjanakāram uttamam
5. Then, the magnanimous Pāṇḍava, appearing very humble, approached Virāṭa and spoke these words: 'O king, I am a cook named Vallava. Please employ me as an excellent preparer of dishes.'
