महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-47, verse-7

रुरून्कृष्णमृगांश्चैव मेध्यांश्चान्यान्वनेचरान् ।
बाणैरुन्मथ्य विधिवद्ब्राह्मणेभ्यो न्यवेदयत् ॥७॥
7. rurūnkṛṣṇamṛgāṁścaiva medhyāṁścānyānvanecarān ,
bāṇairunmathya vidhivadbrāhmaṇebhyo nyavedayat.
7. rurūn kṛṣṇamṛgān ca eva medhyān ca anyān vanecarān
bāṇaiḥ unmathya vidhivat brāhmaṇebhyaḥ nyavedayat
7. Having killed roe deer, blackbucks, and other suitable forest-dwelling animals with arrows according to prescribed rules, he then offered them to the brahmins.
