महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-56, verse-7

प्रातिपीयाः शांतनवाश्च राजन्काव्यां वाचं शृणुत मात्यगाद्वः ।
वैश्वानरं प्रज्वलितं सुघोरमयुद्धेन प्रशमयतोत्पतन्तम् ॥७॥
7. prātipīyāḥ śāṁtanavāśca rāja;nkāvyāṁ vācaṁ śṛṇuta mātyagādvaḥ ,
vaiśvānaraṁ prajvalitaṁ sughora;mayuddhena praśamayatotpatantam.
7. prātipīyāḥ śāṃtanavāḥ ca rājan
kāvyām vācam śṛṇuta mā atyagāt vaḥ
vaiśvānaram prajvalitam sughoram
ayuddhena praśamayataḥ utpatantam
7. O King, descendants of Pratipa (Prātipīyas) and Śantanu (Śāṃtanavas), listen to this wise counsel; do not let it pass you by! Without resorting to war, you must pacify this exceedingly dreadful, blazing, and ever-rising universal fire (vaiśvānara) (of conflict).
