महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-2, chapter-56, verse-3

दुर्योधनो मदेनैव क्षेमं राष्ट्रादपोहति ।
विषाणं गौरिव मदात्स्वयमारुजते बलात् ॥३॥
3. duryodhano madenaiva kṣemaṁ rāṣṭrādapohati ,
viṣāṇaṁ gauriva madātsvayamārujate balāt.
3. duryodhanaḥ madena eva kṣemam rāṣṭrāt apohate
viṣāṇam gauḥ iva madāt svayam ārujate balāt
3. Duryodhana, solely due to his pride, drives away prosperity from the kingdom. Like an intoxicated bull that forcibly breaks its own horn, he himself causes destruction out of arrogance.
