महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-127, verse-9

यम उवाच ।
तपःशौचवता नित्यं सत्यधर्मरतेन च ।
मातापित्रोरहरहः पूजनं कार्यमञ्जसा ॥९॥
9. yama uvāca ,
tapaḥśaucavatā nityaṁ satyadharmaratena ca ,
mātāpitroraharahaḥ pūjanaṁ kāryamañjasā.

9. Yama said: "By one who possesses austerity (tapas) and purity, and who is constantly devoted to truth and natural law (dharma), the service of parents should be performed properly day after day."
