आजगाम महावीर्यः शुम्भोऽपि स्वबलैर्वृतः ।
निहन्तुं चण्डिकां कोपात्कृताव युद्धं तु मातृभिः ॥६॥

6. ājagāma mahāvīryaḥ śumbho'pi svabalairvṛtaḥ .
nihantuṃ caṇḍikāṃ kopātkṛtāva yuddhaṃ tu mātṛbhiḥ.

The immensely powerful Śumbha also arrived, surrounded by his own forces, furiously intending to kill Caṇḍikā, indeed engaging in battle with the Mothers.
