दुर्गा-सप्तशती       durgā-saptaśatī - chapter-9, verse-5

तस्याग्रतस्तथा पृष्ठे पार्श्वयोश्च महासुराः ।
संदष्टौष्ठपुटाः क्रुद्धा हन्तुं देवीमुपाययुः ॥५॥
5. tasyāgratastathā pṛṣṭhe pārśvayośca mahāsurāḥ .
saṃdaṣṭauṣṭhapuṭāḥ kruddhā hantuṃ devīmupāyayuḥ.
5. tasya agrataḥ tathā pṛṣṭhe pārśvayoḥ ca mahāsurāḥ
saṃdaṣṭauṣṭhapuṭāḥ kruddhāḥ hantum devīm upāyayuḥ
5. The great demons, enraged and with their lips pressed together, approached the goddess from in front, behind, and on both sides, intending to kill her.
