He, contemplating (vibhāvayan) that repeated death (punarmṛtiḥ), repeated birth (punarjanma), and old age (jarā) will be his lot, and having deliberated (avamṛśya) what one thing (ekam) could possibly be stable (sthira), exclaimed to himself, 'I am ashamed (lajje aham)!'
