Even on the ground, a pleasure-ground for the Vidyādharas and gods with their aerial vehicles (vimāna), huge, fatty coverings were spread by the spirits (bhūta) to ward off the cold. These coverings, made of fat, resembled clean cloud fragments scattered by the wind and appearing like portions of the sky.
