वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-2, chapter-42, verse-26

तथा स्त्रियो रामनिमित्तमातुरा यथा सुते भ्रातरि वा विवासिते ।
विलप्य दीना रुरुदुर्विचेतसः सुतैर्हि तासामधिको हि सो ऽभवत् ॥२६॥
26. tathā striyo rāmanimittamāturā yathā sute bhrātari vā vivāsite ,
vilapya dīnā rurudurvicetasaḥ sutairhi tāsāmadhiko hi so'bhavat.

26. Similarly, women, distressed for Rāma's sake, wept miserably and were distraught after lamenting, just as they would if a son or a brother were exiled. Indeed, for them, he (Rāma) was more beloved than their own sons.
