मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
तथेति तेन साऽप्युक्ता तस्मात्तोयाद्वपुष्मतीम् ।
उज्जहार ततः कन्यां मालिनी नाम नामतः ॥५॥

5. mārkaṇḍeya uvāca .
tatheti tena sā'pyuktā tasmāttoyādvapuṣmatīm .
ujjahāra tataḥ kanyāṃ mālinī nāma nāmataḥ.
tatheti tena sā'pyuktā tasmāttoyādvapuṣmatīm .
ujjahāra tataḥ kanyāṃ mālinī nāma nāmataḥ.

mārkaṇḍeyaḥ uvāca tathā iti tena sā api uktā tasmāt toyāt
vapuṣmatīm ujjihāra tataḥ kanyām mālinī nāma nāmataḥ

Markandeya said: She too was addressed by him with 'So be it.' Then, he drew from that water the embodied maiden, known by the name Malinī.
