मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-60, verse-8

लभन्ते नात्मलाभञ्च रश्मयश्चन्द्रसूर्ययोः ।
नक्षत्राणां ग्रहाणाञ्च मेरोस्तत्र परा द्युतिः ॥८॥
8. labhante nātmalābhañca raśmayaścandrasūryayoḥ .
nakṣatrāṇāṃ grahāṇāñca merostatra parā dyutiḥ.
8. labhante na ātmalābham ca raśmayaḥ candrasūryayoḥ
nakṣatrāṇām grahāṇām ca meroḥ tatra parā dyutiḥ
8. The rays of the moon and sun do not achieve their intrinsic benefit (ātmalābha). In that place, the splendor of Meru surpasses that of the constellations and planets.
