महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-250, verse-3

एका ह्यहं संप्रति तेन वाचं ददानि वै भद्र निबोध चेदम् ।
अहं ह्यरण्ये कथमेकमेका त्वामालपेयं निरता स्वधर्मे ॥३॥

3. ekā hyahaṁ saṁprati tena vācaṁ; dadāni vai bhadra nibodha cedam ,
ahaṁ hyaraṇye kathamekamekā; tvāmālapeyaṁ niratā svadharme.

| aham hi araṇye katham ekam

3. I am indeed alone now, O gentle one. Therefore, I shall speak to you. And understand this: how else could I, alone in the forest and dedicated to my own intrinsic nature (dharma), speak to you, who are also alone?
