महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-149, verse-12

तस्माद्दद्यान्न याचेत पूजयेद्धार्मिकानपि ।
स्वाभाषी प्रियकृच्छुद्धः सर्वसत्त्वाविहिंसकः ॥१२॥
12. tasmāddadyānna yāceta pūjayeddhārmikānapi ,
svābhāṣī priyakṛcchuddhaḥ sarvasattvāvihiṁsakaḥ.

svābhāṣī priyakṛt śuddhaḥ sarvasattvāvihiṃsakaḥ
12. tasmāt (ekaḥ) dadyāt,
na yāceta api dhārmikān pūjayet (saḥ) svābhāṣī priyakṛt śuddhaḥ sarvasattvāvihiṃsakaḥ (syāt)
12. Therefore, one should give and not ask. One should also honor the righteous. One should be truthful (svābhāṣī), a doer of good, pure, and non-harming (avihiṃsaka) to all beings.
