महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-198, verse-7

यथा महान्ति भूतानि निवर्तन्ते गुणक्षये ।
तथेन्द्रियाण्युपादाय बुद्धिर्मनसि वर्तते ॥७॥
7. yathā mahānti bhūtāni nivartante guṇakṣaye ,
tathendriyāṇyupādāya buddhirmanasi vartate.

7. Just as the great elements (bhūtāni) dissolve at the waning of the qualities (guṇa), so also the intellect, having withdrawn the senses, operates within the mind.
