महानिर्वाण-तन्त्रम्       mahānirvāṇa-tantram - chapter-10, verse-68

जनकादिषु जीवत्सु त्रिषु श्राद्धं विवर्जयेत् ।
तेषु प्रीतेषु देवेशि श्राद्धयज्ञफलं लभेत् ॥६८॥
68. janakādiṣu jīvatsu triṣu śrāddhaṁ vivarjayet ,
teṣu prīteṣu deveśi śrāddhayajñaphalaṁ labhet.

68. O queen of the gods, one should avoid performing a śrāddha when the three ancestors starting with the father are still alive. When they are pleased, one attains the fruit of the śrāddha yagya.
