महानिर्वाण-तन्त्रम्       mahānirvāṇa-tantram - chapter-10, verse-67

पित्रादित्रयमध्ये तु यो जीवति वरानने ।
तस्योर्द्ध्वतनमुल्लिख्य श्राद्धं कुर्याद्विचक्षणः ॥६७॥
67. pitrāditrayamadhye tu yo jīvati varānane ,
tasyorddhvatanamullikhya śrāddhaṁ kuryādvicakṣaṇaḥ.
67. pitrādītrayamadhye tu yaḥ jīvati varānane tasya
ūrdhvatanam ullikhya śrāddham kuryāt vicakṣaṇaḥ
67. varānane,
pitrādi-traya-madhye tu yaḥ jīvati,
tasya ūrdhvatanam ullikhya vicakṣaṇaḥ śrāddham kuryāt
67. O beautiful-faced one, if among the trio of ancestors starting with the father someone is still alive, a wise person should perform the śrāddha by mentioning the one above him.
