डुण्डुभ उवाच ।
अहं पुरा रुरो नाम्ना ऋषिरासं सहस्रपात् ।
सोऽहं शापेन विप्रस्य भुजगत्वमुपागतः ॥७॥

The Ḍuṇḍubha said: "O Ruru, in the past I was a sage named Sahasrapāt. That same I have now attained the state of a serpent due to the curse of a Brahmin."
