महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-10, verse-7

डुण्डुभ उवाच ।
अहं पुरा रुरो नाम्ना ऋषिरासं सहस्रपात् ।
सोऽहं शापेन विप्रस्य भुजगत्वमुपागतः ॥७॥
7. ḍuṇḍubha uvāca ,
ahaṁ purā ruro nāmnā ṛṣirāsaṁ sahasrapāt ,
so'haṁ śāpena viprasya bhujagatvamupāgataḥ.
7. ḍuṇḍubhaḥ uvāca aham purā ruro nāmnā ṛṣiḥ āsam
sahasrapāt saḥ aham śāpena viprasya bhujagatvam upāgataḥ
7. The Ḍuṇḍubha said: "O Ruru, in the past I was a sage named Sahasrapāt. That same I have now attained the state of a serpent due to the curse of a Brahmin."
