विधिहीनमसृष्टान्नं मन्त्रहीनमदक्षिणम् ।
श्रद्धाविरहितं यज्ञं तामसं परिचक्षते ॥१३॥

13. vidhihīnamasṛṣṭānnaṁ mantrahīnamadakṣiṇam ,
śraddhāvirahitaṁ yajñaṁ tāmasaṁ paricakṣate.

13. vidhihīnam asṛṣṭānnam mantrahīnam adakṣiṇam
śraddhāvirahitam yajñam tāmasam paricakṣate

13. A sacrifice (yajña) is declared to be of the nature of ignorance (tāmasa) when it is performed without proper procedure, without offering food, without sacred recitations (mantra), without sacrificial gifts, and without faith (śraddhā).
