इत्थं स्थिरतराकाराः संसारावलयोऽभितः ।
स्वभावाद्ब्रह्मणः सर्वाः पुनरायान्ति यान्ति च ॥ १ ॥

itthaṃ sthiratarākārāḥ saṃsārāvalayo'bhitaḥ ,
svabhāvādbrahmaṇaḥ sarvāḥ punarāyānti yānti ca 1

Śrī Vasiṣṭha said: In this way, all these cycles of transmigration (saṃsāra), which appear very stable in form all around, repeatedly come into being and cease by the intrinsic nature (svabhāva) of Brahman (brahman).
